2019 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

Keyed largely on fresh loan and woodsy spice with a background suggestion of espresso on first nosing. Quickly turns its attention to deep, very solidly varietal black currant fruit - this big, broad-shouldered, studily built cabgernet is an immensely flavorful example with extract and stuffing to spare. It is not overdone or in any way derailed by overly obvious ripeness nor do its ample tannins occlude its amazingly persistent fruit,. We suspect th even those whose tastes run to wines that are more scaled back in richness will see their reservations go by the wayside when this one is poured as a partner to a generous cust of well-marbled Prime Rib roast.
